Ukrainian UAVs begin to be equipped with Kometa trophy blocks
Russian propagandists complain on social media about the installation of trophy Kometa units in Ukrainian drones. They are extracted by Ukrainian specialists from Orlan-10 and Shahed-136 drones. The Kometa unit is designed to protect the navigation signal receiver from the effects of electronic warfare.
In the Shahed-136, the Comet unit is located in the wing. Thanks to this, even if the drone hits the target, it remains unharmed. Thus, the units recovered from Russian drones end up in Ukrainian UAVs for various purposes. They protect them from enemy electronic warfare.
The Kometa unit was originally designed to protect navigation signals. It reduces the impact of electronic warfare systems on the electronics installed in aircraft.
The Kometa line includes several units with different designs. They are characterized by high resistance to electronic warfare agents. The Kometa units make it much more difficult for the Ukrainian military to jam Russian UAVs.
Not long ago, it became known that the occupiers began to equip Comets with navigation units for planning bombs with UMDP.
