Ukrnafta builds three new wells in western Ukraine

Ukrnafta is drilling three new wells in western Ukraine. For this purpose, the company uses both its own drilling rigs and partners

This was reported by the company, according to Espresso.West.

“We are currently installing a drilling rig from our partners at BC Horizons LLC, who were selected through a transparent tender procedure. First, this equipment will be used to drill well 32, then well 34 at the Verkhnemaslovetske field,” said Serhiy Koretskyi, Director of Ukrnafta.

By the way, the Verkhnemaslovetske oil field was discovered in 2001 with exploration well No. 1. The field is located in Lviv region, at an altitude of 800 meters above sea level. This is the only field in Prykarpattia discovered in the 21st century.

The purpose of well No. 32 is to explore deposits of the Stryian sediments. Then, depending on the geological results, No. 34 will be drilled, which should go deeper to menilite deposits.

Next, the company plans to drill another well, No. 33, also in the Stryi deposits, but this time a different drilling rig will be used.

“The company’s own drilling rigs are also busy: two are working on new wells in the east and west, and another will drill a sidetrack – in fact, a new well in an old one – in northern Ukraine,” the statement added.
