Unique LG TV on rollers will be delivered to Europe for the first time: what surprises StanbyME (video)
The model has a powerful battery that lasts for three hours, built-in speakers, and a touch screen that rotates at different angles.
LG will supply new StanbyME portable TVs to the UK, which stand out with an unusual stand on wheels. This was reported by Forbes on Wednesday, November 1.
The original StanbyME model has a 27-inch screen with a textured Pure Beige back panel, mounted on a long arm and a weighted base plate with hidden casters that allow you to quickly move the TV from one room to another. In addition, the device is light enough (weighing 17.5 kg) to carry it over a threshold or up a flight of stairs.
The TV has a built-in rechargeable battery that allows up to three hours of operation on a single charge – enough to watch most movies from start to finish. There is a remote control, but you don’t have to carry it around with you everywhere, because StanbyME is equipped with a touch screen.
The height of the screen is adjustable from 1 to 1.4 m, it can be rotated 180 degrees and tilted 50 degrees. This allows you to quickly adjust the position for most viewing angles. The screen has a Full HD resolution only, not 4K, but supports HDR (in HDR10 and HLG versions), is powered by the Alpha 7 Gen 4 AI processor previously used in LG’s regular mid-range LCD TVs, and backs up the image with a built-in 2 x 10W sound system.
StanbyME comes pre-installed with LG’s Smart TV platform, webOS. It will support major programs such as Netflix, Disney Plus, and Prime Video. StanbyME also supports AirPlay 2 and Mobile Screen Mirroring, which means you can mirror and connect your phone to your TV for video calls or streaming other media. The device does not have a built-in tuner, but supports connecting set-top boxes via HDMI and USB.
The manufacturer first presented the StanbyME TV back in December 2021, but it will appear in Europe for the first time only on November 28, when sales in the UK begin. The model may soon be sold in other European countries. The price of LG StanbyME in the US is $999 (36.2 thousand UAH), in the UK – $1454 (52.7 thousand UAH).
