UZ introduces security marshals – what is known about the new employees

The first railroad safety marshals started working at Ukrzaliznytsia’s station complexes and on trains.

As the company’s press service explained, these are employees of the company’s paramilitary security, whose main task is to monitor the security situation in passenger transportation and respond in a timely manner if necessary.

“Unlike their security colleagues, who work at railroad facilities in uniform with all the insignia, marshals do not work in public. Therefore, neither respectable citizens nor criminals know about the offender hunters,” UZ emphasized.”

It is noted that the first marshals began their work in September, in particular, they work on one of the popular western destinations, “which currently requires more attention to ensure passenger safety.”

Ukrzaliznytsia reminded that due to the full-scale invasion, the company has tightened security control at railway facilities, in particular at railway stations, to prevent citizens from transporting explosive and other substances and weapons not allowed for transportation without proper permission.

Also, as previously reported, as part of the Iron Security project, the company introduced paramilitary security escorts in 9 passenger trains.
