Vienna topped the ranking of the most convenient cities in the world again

Vienna was once again recognized as the most liveable city in the world. The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has published its annual ranking of 173 cities.

Khmarochos writes about this.

In 2021, the Austrian capital dropped in the ranking due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, but a year later it again topped the list. This time Vienna retained its leadership. The EIU analysts noted that it is a stable city with a well-developed infrastructure, where you can get a good education and receive high-quality medical care. It also hosts many cultural and entertainment events.

Copenhagen was ranked second, with a high level of stability, education, and infrastructure. Last year, the Danish capital had the same position. Europe has created a ranking of cities with the best conditions for mental well-being, topped by Copenhagen.

Melbourne (Australia) rounded out the top three.

Large cities with high crime, congestion, and density have a lower index. In particular, London dropped 12 positions from last year to 46th place, and New York dropped to 69th place.

This year, Kyiv was returned to the ranking. He was ranked 165th. Its infrastructure score of 23.2 out of 100 is the lowest in the index due to Russian shelling, The Economist explains. Kyiv is located between the cities of Douala (Cameroon) and Harare (Zimbabwe).

Many Eastern European cities, which fell in 2022 because they are located near Ukraine, have seen their stability scores rise this year.

Sydney (Australia), Vancouver (Canada), Calgary (Canada) and Geneva (Switzerland), Toronto (Canada), Osaka (Japan), and Auckland (New Zealand) also made it to the top ten most convenient cities in the world.
