Volkswagen is actively developing the production of electric cars

Volkswagen expects to shorten delivery times for electric cars in the near future. For this, the company makes many efforts.

By the end of 2022, the delivery terms of Volkswagen AG electric cars will be reduced. The chief executive director of the concern, Herbert Diess, is counting on this.

‘The forecast is excellent, we have a perfect volume of orders in Asia,’ – said Diss. ‘We are trying to ensure short delivery times.’

According to him, this period of the year turned out to be peak for the company, so the concern is increasing production. VW will accelerate production in the second half of 2022 to be able to shorten the delivery time of electric vehicles.

‘There is also high demand in Europe and the US,’ – said Diess.

The semiconductor shortage situation, according to the head of VW, is still an obstacle for production, but he expects it to improve soon.

Volkswagen has begun construction of a battery plant in Salzgitter and announced the launch of a new manufacturing company, PowerCo. VW said in a statement that PowerCo. ‘…will be responsible for all global Volkswagen Group battery operations.’ By 2030, PowerCo. together with its partners, invests more than 20 billion euros in the development of this business segment. The company’s annual turnover is expected to exceed 20 billion euros, and its staff in Europe will be up to 20,000 people.
