Warsaw sends another batch of subway cars to Kyiv (video)

Kyiv Metro received 12 rolling stock cars from Warsaw. Another 6 cars are planned by the end of the month, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reported.

The company’s specialists are currently examining the cars that were received from the Warsaw Metro. Even among the cars of the same series, many differences were found, as the conditions of their operation in different subways vary significantly.

Kyiv received 60 cars of the No. 81 series from the Warsaw Metro, which were decommissioned. This rolling stock will be used primarily as a source of technical components. These railcars will also be used to stockpile spare parts for further train repairs in the Moscow metro.

Delivery of these railcars began in late April and 30 out of 60 cars have been delivered so far. The company plans to complete delivery of all 10 couplers by the end of this year.
