What the ship on which 4000 cars burned looks like (photo)

Look at the consequences of a fire on a cargo ship with 4000 cars. All the vehicles on board were damaged.

Photos of a burnt-out ship with 3784 cars were posted online. Pictures of the aftermath of the fire on the Fremantle Highway were published by CarBuzz.

Even though part of the cargo ship survived, the cars are unlikely to make it to dealerships. According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by a spontaneous combustion of the battery of one of the electric cars.

Judging by the photos, most of the cars in the hold were almost completely burned out. The bulk carrier mostly transported BMW and Mercedes-Benz models. In addition, the fire damaged several Porsche 911s and Taycans, as well as five-door MINIs. The Fremantle Highway vessel is designed to carry six thousand vehicles. At the time of the fire, there were 3784 cars on board.

Experts say the preliminary cause of the fire was spontaneous ignition of the battery of one of the electric cars. In total, there were about five hundred battery cars on board the bulk carrier. Rescuers managed to stop the fire, so the fire did not damage some decks with cars. However, due to exposure to high temperatures and fire extinguishing agents, these machines were still damaged.

The fire on the Fremantle Highway vessel became known in late July. Before the rescuers arrived, the crew tried to extinguish the fire on their own.
