WhatsApp introduces new voice chat feature for large groups
WhatsApp has launched a new voice chat feature designed for large groups with 33 to 128 participants.
TechCrunch reports this with reference to the company’s statement.
This feature in WhatsApp messenger allows you to start voice chats without sound notifications. Users can join the chat by simply clicking on the pop-up window in the chat. This is different from regular group calls, where each participant receives a notification of the call.
Users can now talk and text at the same time thanks to a new feature. To control the sound, mute/unmute your voice, or send messages in the chat, just click on the corresponding buttons at the top of the chat.
According to the publication, voice chats resemble similar features in Discord, Telegram, and Slack.
In the coming weeks, WhatsApp will roll out voice chats worldwide. The company notes that it protects voice chats with end-to-end encryption by default.
Recently, during the annual Connect conference, the US-based Meta announced an AI-based chatbot for its Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp products. The bot will be able to search for answers to queries using Microsoft’s Bing search engine and generate certain images according to the specified parameters.
