Windows 7 and Windows 8 will stop receiving major updates starting January 10

‘Microsoft’ announced the termination of the support program for desktop operating systems Windows 7/-8, starting from January 10. As of that date, security updates will no longer be available to the system, The Verge informs.

The publication also mentions the end of support for the WebView2 tool for inserting content into applications and notes that the 109th version of support will be the last for Microsoft Edge.

In the middle of last autumn, it became known that both Windows platforms would be deprived of the Google Chrome browser, starting from 02.07.2023.

In order to avoid critical consequences for PCs, Microsoft recommends Windows 7/-8 users to switch to newer versions of the OS – tenth or eleventh.
