X-101, X-555, Iskander-M and Kalibr – Ukrainian Air Force destroyed 29 out of 30 missiles
From the evening of May 17 to the morning of May 18, the Ukrainian Air Force repelled another missile attack by the Russian Federation. In total, they managed to shoot down over 96% of the missiles.
The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced the destruction of 29 out of 30 missiles. These included six Kalibr sea-launched cruise missiles, 21 X-101 and X-555 strategic air defense missiles, and two Iskander-M quasi-ballistic missiles.
The Kalibr carriers are ships in the Black Sea. The X-101 / X-555 missiles were launched from a long distance using eight Tu-95 bombers and two Tu-160s. One of the missiles was not shot down.
Ukraine was also attacked by two Shahed-131/136 kamikaze attack drones. They were also destroyed, along with two operational and tactical drones. Probably, the drones were conducting reconnaissance.
