Xiaomi has introduced a “power bank for the Internet” with a capacity of 4, 8 and 16 gigabytes
Xiaomi has released an innovative device that it bills as a “power bank for the Internet” that allows you to store Internet like power banks store energy. The novelty can connect to a Wi-Fi network to store the Internet (and serves as an access point that distributes the accumulated traffic), as well as use the built-in Ethernet connector for this purpose.
The new product will be available in three versions with different capacities: 4, 8 and 16 gigabytes of data. The announced prices in China are 299, 399 and 499 yuan, respectively. This is equivalent to 1600, 2150, and 2700 hryvnias. Xiaomi expects to sell these devices in collaboration with mobile operators, which could help the company’s smartphones enter the US and European markets. Potentially, this could be the breakthrough technology that will completely destroy the existing mobile router market, as it will allow you to carry a device that does not directly depend on the operator’s network coverage and the current load on the mobile network. This “power bank of the Internet” will allow you to connect up to 8 gadgets to the Internet via Wi-Fi or a laptop via Ethernet, providing a reliable and stable connection of 1 Gbps for Ethernet and 300 Mbps for Wi-Fi.
The company plans to sell 2 million of these devices by the end of 2023. There is no information about deliveries to Ukraine and the expected price yet. Follow our news – the gg editorial team promises to keep its finger on the pulse.
