Zaluzhnyi reacted to the discovery of listening devices in his office
Chief Commander of the Armed Forces Valeriy Zaluzhnyi said that he does not consider the discovery of listening devices in his office to be pressure. He also does not think that state secrets were disclosed in the office.
Zaluzhnyi spoke to journalists before the presentation of the State Logistics Operator’s work for 2024.
When asked whether he considers the discovery of a wiretap in his office as pressure, Zaluzhnyi replied:
No, like a war. The investigation will prove that this may be the case.
He added that he was supposed to go to the office where the listening device was found at 7 a.m. today.
I don’t think (that state secrets could have been disclosed in this office – ed. This room had been used before, but the break was quite significant, so it was just in time for my meeting,” Zaluzhny added.
The Commander-in-Chief explained that he had not been in the office where the equipment was found for a long time.
I have several places where I work. And in one of them it happened. I haven’t been there for a long time. But we checked and found (the wiretap – ed.).
The audition in Zaluzhny’s office: what is known
On December 17, Ukrainian media outlets cited sources in military circles as saying that listening devices had been found in Valeriy Zaluzhny’s office.
The SBU stated that it had opened proceedings under Article 359, part 2 (illegal acquisition, sale or use of special technical means of obtaining information) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
They added that the device was found not directly in Zaluzhny’s office, but in one of the rooms that could be used by him for work in the future.
They added that the equipment was previously inoperable.
