Israeli defense company Elbit Systems has unveiled its latest innovation in the field of unmanned aerial systems, the Hermes 650 Spark. The company said that this advanced tactical UAV, part of the Hermes family, promises to revolutionize air missions with its enhanced capabilities and versatility.
The Hermes 650 Spark boasts outstanding durability, versatility and economy in a variety of applications, including land, air and sea. Due to its long flight duration, the UAV provides exceptional payload capacity, increased flight range, flight speed, endurance and operational efficiency.
Designed to meet a variety of operational needs, including military, national security, and civilian applications, the Hermes 650 Spark offers multiple payload configurations without compromising flight time. Its integrated design minimizes life-cycle costs while providing the highest standards of safety, survivability and security.
Key features of the Hermes 650 Spark include automatic takeoff and landing capability, automatic taxiing from short runways, and a 260 kg payload. Thanks to eight modular storage stations and six wing suspension points, the UAV can carry a payload of up to 120 kg with a full supply of fuel, providing extended flight capabilities.
The system’s multiple payload capability combines high-quality electro-optics (EO), radar, SIGINT and other advanced functions to enable long-duration missions in SATCOM range and up to 24 hours of autonomy.
