Norway is going to send 22 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters to Ukraine – media

According to the Norwegian newspaper Nettavisen, Norway is going to give Ukraine 22 F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter jets. Out of this number, 12 aircraft will be in working order, and the remaining 10 will be used as donors for spare parts. Norway is also planning to provide Ukraine with engines and simulators for pilots. The time of the start of deliveries has not yet been specified, but it is likely that this will not happen before the July NATO summit.

This replenishment is part of a larger package, as Ukraine is to receive a total of about 65 F-16s from international partners. The first aircraft are expected to be commissioned by the Ukrainian military in late spring or early summer.

The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a multirole light fighter developed by the American company General Dynamics. Known for its versatility and affordable cost, the F-16 is in great demand internationally and is the most widely used fourth-generation fighter jet, in service with 24 countries.
