According to him, the Chinese fighter jet fired flares about 300 meters in front of the Royal Australian Navy’s MH-60R helicopter and at an altitude of about 60 meters above it. The incident occurred when the Australian warship was in the Yellow Sea as part of Operation Argos, which is aimed at monitoring compliance with UN sanctions against North Korea.

Canberra recognized the behavior of the Chinese fighter jet crew as “dangerous and unprofessional” and expressed deep concern for the safety of its military.
