Tesla’s $5 billion Mexican plant will become the largest enterprise and produce 1 million electric vehicles per year

This week, Tesla held Investor Day 2023 and announced the construction of a new plant in the Mexican state of Nuevo León. The new facility will become Tesla’s largest production site.

What is known

Elon Musk’s company will invest $5 billion in the construction of the Mexican plant and create 5000-6000 jobs. However, over time, the amount of investment and the number of jobs will double.

The plant will be located 6 hours away from Tesla’s headquarters in Texas. The enterprise will occupy twice the area of the Texas factory. This could have been understood some time ago, based on Tesla’s activity in buying up land in Mexico.

The new plant will be able to produce 1 million electric vehicles annually. Tesla will produce vehicles in Mexico on a new platform, but there is no information on this yet. More details will be available in three months when construction begins.
