Ukrainian Stryker APCs receive M151 Protector module with M2 Browning machine gun
The Stryker armored personnel carriers that arrived in Ukraine turned out to be equipped with M151 Protector remote-controlled combat modules with M2 Browning machine guns mounted on them. Footage of the armored vehicles was shown to the public by Oleksiy Reznikov.
The first to receive the armored vehicles were the fighters of the State Security Service. The Minister of Defense personally took part in the Stryker test drive. According to the official, he is sincerely glad that the world’s best soldiers are receiving the best vehicles from Ukraine’s partners. They will bring us closer to victory.
The M151 Protector consists of a unit equipped with electronic optical sights. In addition to the machine gun, it has nozzles for firing M6 smoke grenades. The combat module can be controlled remotely from the body of the armored personnel carrier.
It is worth noting that until recently, the Ukrainian army had not been supplied with Stryker armored personnel carriers. The Pentagon believes that they are essential for victory. Stryker production in the United States began in 2001. Since then, several modifications of the armored personnel carriers have been produced. The armored vehicles have proven to be highly effective in real combat.
