Drones attacked Moscow: explosions occurred near the Defense Ministry (photos, video)

Sergei Shoigu’s ministry confirmed the drone attack on Moscow and accused Ukraine of a “terrorist attack.” The drones were allegedly suppressed by electronic warfare systems, and there was no serious damage.

On the night of Monday, July 24, explosions occurred in Moscow. Drones attacked a building near the Russian Ministry of Defense and a business center. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on Telegram.

According to the Shot Telegram channel, a series of explosions occurred in Moscow at about 4 a.m. in the morning. Drones attacked Likhacheva Street.

“In the building where Leroy Merlin is located, the glass on the upper floors was smashed. The UAV had previously ‘flown in’ there,” the statement said.

The Mash Telegram channel claims that the drones also flew to Komsomolsky Prospekt, where the building of the Russian Defense Ministry is located.

The Russian news outlet TASS, which cites emergency services, confirmed the “arrivals.”

The incident was also commented on by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

“On the morning of July 24, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with two unmanned aerial vehicles against targets in Moscow was prevented. Two Ukrainian UAVs were suppressed by means of electronic warfare and crashed,” the statement said.

They report that there is currently no information about the dead and injured.

The Ukrainian side has not yet responded to the incident.

On the morning of July 4, Russian media reported explosions in Moscow and the region, as well as air defense operations. Later, it was reported that air defense forces allegedly shot down two drones near the village of Valuevo in Novaya Moskva.

Later, it became known that one of the UAVs attacked a military unit in the Moscow region, striking an administrative building. Explosions were also heard near the Marushkino settlement, in the direction of Vnukovo airport.
