Elistair presents 30-kilogram “drone on a rope” KHRONOS (video)

Elistair, a French company, has designed a new unmanned system. It is a “tethered” KHRONOS drone designed for intelligence gathering and surveillance. DroneLife writes about it.

UAVs can be used in tandem with both stationary and mobile platforms. It is positioned by the manufacturer as a “pocket watchtower”. The head of the French company, Guillaume de Marliav, claims that the KHRONOS unmanned system is launched at the touch of a button. In addition to the military, it can be used by border guards and public security agencies.

The KHRONOS drone weighs about 30 kg. It is able to operate in the absence of GPS/GNSS signals thanks to secure tethering and an advanced positioning system. It takes about two minutes to deploy an aircraft from a portable container. It is capable of providing day and night vision within a 10-kilometer radius for 24 hours.

KHRONOS will be delivered complete with a landing station. It is “tied” to it with a 70-meter cable. The station not only provides the drone with electricity, but also transmits data in high-speed mode. The “drone on a rope” will make its official debut on the commercial market next year.
