Atlas C.1 aircraft makes record-breaking flight from the UK to Guam with three mid-air refueling

A historic achievement

The Royal Air Force has announced a historic achievement for the Atlas C.1 transport aircraft. He made a record-breaking flight to the island of Guam.

In the Indo-Pacific region, exercises are taking place with the participation of the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, France, and New Zealand. The Atlas C.1 took off from Brize Norton and flew for 22 hours over the Atlantic, North America and the Pacific Ocean.

During the flight, the transport plane had to be refueled three times. The first refueling took place over the Atlantic Ocean thanks to the Voyager tanker of the Royal Air Force. Two more refuelings were made by Voyager, which took off from a U.S. base in Alaska.

Participation in the exercise demonstrates the UK’s commitment to ensuring the stability of the region. The event aims to help countries improve their teamwork skills and interoperability.
