“Dune: Part Two” becomes a box office hit, grossing $700 million

Last week, the digital release of the movie Dune: Part Two. The movie is now available on Amazon and AppleTV+. However, the sequel to Dune is still being shown in theaters, and it is already known how much the film earned in 8 weeks of release.

The movie grossed $695 million worldwide. 276 million was raised in the United States and 419 million in the rest of the world.

Also, Dune: Part Two outperformed Part One, which grossed $434 million. However, it is important to clarify that from the day of the premiere, the first part was available on the HBO Max streaming service, which affected the purchase of tickets in cinemas.

The film cost $190 million to produce and another $100 million was spent on its promotion. Despite the high price, the film retained the popularity necessary to justify these costs and make a profit.

Given that Dune is still being shown in theaters, there is a chance that Denis Villeneuve’s film will raise 700 million.
