Dutch developers have presented an innovative reconnaissance drone that looks like a real eagle

The Netherlands has created an innovative reconnaissance drone Evolution Eagle, which completely replicates the appearance of a bird of prey. The remote-controlled UAV is manufactured by Guard From Upper.

This was reported by NewAtlas.

Previously, Guard From Upper trained real birds of prey to intercept enemy drones. And now we have created their “analog. The Evolution Eagle drone is the same size, shape and color as a real eagle. It is driven by two propellers located in the front of the wings and controlled by flaps located along the rear of the wings and tail.

Unlike some other drones that imitate birds, the wings of this model remain stationary. If the drone flapped its wings, it would look even more like an eagle, but such a design is quite complicated and the battery would run out faster.

The Evolution Eagle can hover on rising streams of warm air. This not only saves battery power, but also allows the operator to temporarily shut down the engines to eliminate propeller noise.

The UAV is controlled remotely in real time using an onboard FPV (first-person view) camera. The payload compartment in the rear can accommodate other equipment, such as a thermal imaging camera, a mapping camera, or an anti-drone system.

When Evolution Eagle is not in use, it is disassembled and packed in a case. It is reported that the device can be assembled in just 3 minutes and then launched manually.
