E-cigarettes are dangerous: vaping can lead to DNA mutations
Vaping can damage DNA, just like smoking tobacco. Scientists have warned that vaping affects the body at the level of genes.
This is evidenced by a recent study that included 3,500 cell samples from tobacco smokers and found significant DNA changes associated with lung cancer and tumors.
Vaping harms the body at the DNA level
Scientists have suggested that people who vape will have a similar condition to smokers, even if they have smoked less than 100 real cigarettes in their lives.
There is still little evidence to suggest that e-cigarettes cause cancer. But some genetic changes indicate danger,
– said the author of the study, Chiara Herzog.
Research perspective
The researchers noted that more research is needed to determine the long-term health effects of vaping.
Nevertheless, many governments around the world have decided to pass new laws aimed at combating smoking and vaping.
