Elon Musk nominated for Nobel Peace Prize for his commitment to freedom of speech

Marius Nielsen, a deputy of the Norwegian Libertarian Progress Party, nominated Elon Musk for the Nobel Peace Prize as a “strong supporter of freedom of speech.” This was reported by DailyMail.

Nielsen said that he nominated Musk for his “strong defense of dialogue, freedom of speech and the ability to express one’s views” in an “increasingly polarized world.”

He also noted that the satellite communication terminals of Starlink, Elon Musk’s SpaceX company, help Ukraine in “communication, coordination and countering military aggression by Russia.”

“The many technology companies that Elon Musk has founded, owned, or operated to improve society, expand knowledge of Earth and space, and enable communication and connectivity on a global scale…have helped make the world a more interconnected and secure place.”

In addition, Nielsen specially created a page on the social network X to announce Musk’s nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Nominations for the Nobel Prize are open to individuals who meet certain criteria, including work in academia or government, as well as previous winners of the prize.

The jury will select the winner from a short list of nominees in October 2024.

Marius Nielsen’s Norwegian Libertarian Progress Party has only 12% of the Norwegian parliament.

Elon Musk has repeatedly gotten into scandals for spreading Russian narratives. On February 20, he also said that Ukraine should strive to conclude a peace agreement with Russia, as its position in the war is weakening every day. According to Musk, the deal should have been concluded a year ago.
