Elon Musk was recognized as the worst tech boss of 2022

The Guardian has published a ranking of the worst technology CEOs of 2022. Oddly enough, it was Elon Musk who was recognized as the worst. In addition to him, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Parag Agrawal, Sam Bankman-Fried, Elizabeth Holmes were included in the rating.

The owner of SpaceX and Tesla has had a busy year filled with conflicts, scandals, technological developments, discussions about cryptocurrency and, of course, the purchase of Twitter. As The Guardian notes, ‘the richest man in the world has repeatedly demonstrated that he does not understand the connection between words, actions, and consequences.’ And today, he once again ‘noted’ on Twitter.

What will Elon Musk be remembered for in 2022? He acquired Twitter, although not without conflict, fired almost 75% of the platform’s employees, made Twitter Blue paid. Then he deleted 1.5 billion ‘dead’ profiles, while blocking hundreds of thousands of active users in several countries around the world. He also distinguished himself as a bad boss, as he forces employees to sleep at their workplaces, even converting offices into bedrooms.

He also warned employees that Twitter could have a cash deficit of more than $1 billion next year and, therefore, become insolvent. That is why Musk is determined to keep advertisers, and in return is even ready to sell them personal data of users. In addition, he is threatened with sanctions from the EU for blocking journalists.

And don’t forget about his desire to ‘sit on two chairs.’ He seems to support Ukraine, provided his Starlink, and Elon Musk’s hostile statements on Twitter in favor of Russia do not give him bonus points according to Ukrainians.

Late last year, Zuckerberg renamed his company Meta Platforms. In February 2022, its capitalization during one day asked for 230 billion USD. In the fall, the Facebook founder had to fire 11,000 Meta employees.

Founded by billionaire Jeff Bezos, the Amazon shopping platform faced a sharp drop in demand in 2022. The company was forced to carry out ‘mass purges’ of personnel. Against the background of Amazon’s failures, Bezos lost the title of the richest entrepreneur on the planet.
