FSB recruited Ukrainian schoolchildren: what punishment awaits teenagers

The enemy recruited Ukrainian teenagers through the banned social network Vkontakte, Telegram channels and online gaming platforms. They may face prison terms.

Russian special services recruit Ukrainian children for cooperation. This was reported by the SBU press service on Telegram.

“To recruit Ukrainian teenagers, the occupiers use the banned social network Vkontakte, controlled Telegram channels and online gaming platforms,” the statement said.

They noted that on these platforms, the enemy “gets to know” users and offers to cooperate. For this purpose, they may use blackmail or psychological manipulation, or offer “easy” money.

The SBU emphasized that since the beginning of the year, it has recorded more than two thousand reports of fake mining of infrastructure in various localities. Most of the information about the pseudo-mining came from the territory of the Russian Federation and from Ukrainian “subscribers”. In particular, among the defendants are teenagers who collaborated with Russia.

The authors of fake messages use special programs to remain anonymous. However, this does not help, and SBU officers identify them, document the crime and bring them to justice.

In Cherkasy, two high school students recruited by the FSB through Telegram channels reported pseudo-mining of the OVA and the city shopping center. The investigation under Art. 259 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (knowingly false report of a threat to the safety of citizens, destruction or damage to property).

They added that the schoolchildren face a sentence of up to eight years in prison. If the teenagers are under 16, their parents or persons in loco parentis will be responsible for the crime.
