Iran was also involved: the IDF discovered an underground factory in Gaza where cruise missiles were manufactured

The Israeli Defense Forces reported that soldiers found components proving that Hamas militants were building or developing cruise missiles in the Gaza metro.

This was reported by The Times of Israel.

The Israeli military, which continues its operation in the Gaza Strip, has discovered equipment and components used by Hamas militants to produce cruise missiles. It was believed that the terrorists did not have the weapons to create precision munitions.

The IDF adds that the technological equipment was discovered by soldiers of the Nahal Brigade and special operations forces in the Daraj and Tuffa areas of Gaza City. They found the shaft of a tunnel that led to an underground weapons factory.

“The soldiers found components that prove that Hamas terrorists were trained under Iranian guidance on how to operate and build precision components and strategic weapons,” the IDF said.

The army also published photos that were identified as a rocket engine and a warhead from a cruise missile. Previously, Hamas was known to be able to produce anti-tank guided missiles, UAVs with explosives, autonomous submarines, but not cruise missiles. In addition, the militants have man-portable air defense systems, but according to the publication, they are not effective against Israeli aircraft.

It is not yet known whether the militants have produced cruise missiles or are developing them.
