Israel destroys missile depots in Syria near Damascus. It happened with a high-precision shot from the ground. Strong explosions lasted about two hours. The explosions occurred early in the morning on Sunday, August 13. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claims that a Hezbollah missile depot was destroyed in a mountainous area west of the Syrian capital.
The target was reportedly hit by a surface-to-surface missile launched from a land-based system. Previously, missile strikes on targets in Syria were often carried out from military aircraft, Vesti reports.
The explosions destroyed the entire contents of the warehouse. It is likely that the accumulation of this amount of ammunition lasted for more than a month.
However, Syrian state television and the official SANA news agency did not provide any details about what happened, as is usually the case after such attacks.
The first detailed information appeared only around 8:00 a.m. in the Russian pro-government Sputnik media outlet.
It also emphasizes that Syria’s air defense systems tried to repel a missile attack near Damascus by Israeli warplanes.
As a result, it became known that four Syrian soldiers were killed and four more were wounded.
