Microsoft has blocked Russians from accessing Windows updates
The American corporation Microsoft limited the possibility of upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 for Russians.
If you try to download and install the update through Windows Update, the operating system suggests going to the company’s official website. On the website, when trying to download a special downloader program of the latest version of Windows, an empty browser window opens, the download does not take place.
Therefore, the section with the installation of the updated version of the operating system is not available.
Note that on June 8, Microsoft announced a ‘significant reduction in operations in Russia.’ Russian users have been unable to download the new Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems since June 19. In July, the media reported that the number of requests to Google to install pirated Windows operating systems increased by 80-120%.
