Mobile communication in Ukraine — now only 44% of base stations of all operators are working
As of the first half of the day on November 24, 44% of base stations of mobile communication are working – that is, half of the total number of stations before the full-scale invasion of Russia are now in service. This was announced by the spokesman of the State Special Forces Volodymyr Kondrashov during a briefing, writes Forbes.
This explains the large-scale interruptions in the work of all Ukrainian mobile operators, which began to be felt even more acutely after the seventh massive wave of Russian missile attacks on November 23.
The worst situation is observed in the Mykolaiv region, where 9% of base stations work, Kirovohrad region (13.7%), Poltava region (15%), Odesa region (15.2%) and Kharkiv region (17%) – precisely in these regions, after the attack on November 23, the biggest decline in Internet traffic, as confirmed by NetBlocks data.
Sumy, Chernivtsi, Zakarpattia, Lviv, and Cherkasy regions are the best connected today. In the rest of the regions, the situation is gradually stabilizing — as of this morning, about 50% of broadband Internet stations were working.
At the same time, Ukraine continues to receive the necessary telecommunications equipment from partners to restore communication in the affected regions, in particular in the Kherson region. In the event of a complete power outage and no communication, the State Special Communications Service advises to use a landline/fixed connection.

During the massive shelling on November 23, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot down 51 out of 70+ missiles and 5 UAVs. At the same time, it was not without hits – two dozen rockets hit infrastructure facilities and energy networks in Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih, causing a temporary blackout of all nuclear power plants, most thermal and hydroelectric power plants. The Ministry of Energy expects to restore the electricity generation of Ukrainian nuclear power plants to the grid by the evening of November 24, which will allow to significantly reduce the deficit and return to the schedules of scheduled shutdowns.
The President’s Office reported that after yesterday’s attack, electricity was supplied to all regions of Ukraine – critical infrastructure facilities were the first to recover, and now the connection to the network of household consumers is gradually underway. Also, 4,000 ‘Points of Invincibility’ have already been deployed in the regions – these are specially equipped places where you can recharge your phones, warm up, and drink warm drinks. Currently, energy workers, utility workers and rescue workers continue to work 24/7 to restore critical civil and energy infrastructure that Russia is purposefully destroying with missiles and kamikaze drones.
