New AIHMI AHM-1X Kamikaze UAV will be able to fly up to 60 km (video)
In the first decade of October, the US hosted the AUSA defense exhibition. One of its participants was a Greek startup. According to Breaking Defense, he brought the AIHMI AHM-1X kamikaze UAV to the exhibition. The journalists of the publication managed to talk to Christos Christou from S.A.S. technology, who developed the barrage munition.
According to him, AIHMI AHM-1X supports integration with the SARISA drone. In addition, it can be used in tandem with helicopters. After being dropped like a bomb, the kamikaze drone can cover 15 km with the engine turned off. After activating the power plant, its flight range will increase by another 50 km.
The Hydra 70 missile acts as a warhead. By the way, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have such missiles. The maximum speed of the barrage munition can reach 140 km/h.
The Greek startup’s management is currently looking for partners. Kamikaze UAVs have already attracted interest from the US government and military. At the same time, its development is not yet complete. A prototype was shown at the AUSA exhibition. The launch of AIHMI AHM-1X mass production is scheduled for next year.
