North Korea has shipped more than a thousand containers of weapons to Russia by sea

In exchange for military assistance, Pyongyang wants to receive advanced military technologies from Moscow, possibly fighter jets, surface-to-air missiles, armored vehicles, ballistic missile production equipment or similar materials.

North Korea has recently handed over a new batch of weapons to Russia for the war against Ukraine. More than a thousand containers of ammunition were transported by sea.

This was stated by US Ambassador to NATO Julian Smith during a briefing.

According to her, the United States has information that North Korea has provided the aggressor country with more than a thousand containers of weapons and ammunition. They were transported from the DPRK to Russia by ship.

According to Smith, in exchange for military aid, Pyongyang wants to receive advanced military technology from Moscow, possibly fighter jets, surface-to-air missiles, armored vehicles, ballistic missile production equipment or similar materials.

“The expanding military partnership between the DPRK and Russia does fundamentally undermine regional stability, it undermines international stability, and it certainly undermines the global nonproliferation regime,” the US Ambassador emphasized.

Cooperation between the DPRK and Russia

Since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has repeatedly asked North Korea to provide missiles. After a while, the DPRK sent more than 1 million artillery shells to Russia.

According to the representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Andriy Yusov, the DPRK will not be able to constantly supply Russia in the war against our country.

State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that the United States is concerned about military cooperation between Russia and North Korea.

Recently, according to US intelligence, it became known that Russian ships have been regularly visiting the North Korean port of Rason since August. The DPRK sent about 2000 containers of weapons to the Russian Federation.
