Parody on Stefania about grandmother Evdokia breaks YouTube (video)
A parody of the Stefania track of the winners of Eurovision-2022, the Ukrainian rap group Kalush Orchestra, is gaining popularity on the Internet. The composition was performed by blogger Dmitry Varvaruk, changing the text to: ‘Evdokiya, babo. Babo, Evdokiya. Sows the field, and Russia smolders.’
Dmytro published a video for the cover on his YouTube channel SILIRADA. The author of the original Oleg Psyuk also managed to appreciate the work. The frontman of the Kalush Orchestra jokingly invited the blogger to go with a new version of the hit at Eurovision in 2023.
Barbarian appears in a video in the already familiar pink panama. The main heroine of the video and song – grandmother Yevdokiya (her real name is Oksana) – tells her grandson how the Ukrainian language and culture were oppressed in the USSR.
“This video is dedicated to my grandmother. Oksana just doesn’t rhyme in the song. She raised me as a child when my parents were abroad. My grandmother told me about the difficult fate of the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian language, and despite all the bans, she and my grandfather sang Ukrainian songs. Since then, I have been doing my best to make Ukrainian content popular and popular. And I will do so while my heart beats,” – the author left under the video.
The main character of the video is not just a grandmother from the village, who manages the yard and feeds her grandson with home-made food. She represents the strength of Ukrainian women. When the Russian occupier enters her house, she meets the enemy with a hoe and leaves him no chance.
In the two days since its publication, the video has been viewed by more than 517,000 people. They left 40,000 likes and about 1,300 enthusiastic comments. On the ‘Trending’ tab, the video is held at 18 positions.
