People’s Bayraktar will arrive in Ukraine in late August – Prytula
Three Bayraktar TB2 drones donated to Ukrainians by the Turkish company Baykar will arrive at the Armed Forces in late August. The devices will come with special markings for their identification. They will have the inscription “People’s Bayraktar”.
This was told by a volunteer, the founder of the Charitable Foundation Serhiy Prytula.
The volunteer also added that the waiting period of almost two months is very fast because the average production time of UAVs, even for Ukrainian companies, is about three months.
“That is, in addition to what the Ministry of Defense contracted, it will be plus the three systems we expect at the end of August, if all goes well and without force majeure. Plus, the Turkish side promised that they would correctly mark those drones so that we could identify them against the background of the general contract of the Ministry of Defense,” – Prytula said.
Currently, the volunteer, together with the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, are deciding where exactly to direct UAH 600 million from Ukrainians and business to maximize assistance to Ukrainian defenders.
“I have no desire to decide for myself what to spend that money on because it is human money. I also understand that several million people who have donated a huge amount have different visions of where the money should go. Yesterday I had a conversation with the Ministry of Defense, today I have another meeting with the Ministry of Defense, tomorrow I have a meeting with the Glavkom of the Armed Forces, if nothing goes wrong. In coordination, we look at where it is better to adjust that money so that it has a higher efficiency. Because there are a lot of areas that need to be closed,” – the volunteer explained.
It will be recalled that on June 22, volunteer Serhiy Prytula announced a nationwide fundraiser for the purchase of three Bayraktar drones for the Armed Forces. Ukrainians and everyone who could joined the fundraiser and raised $10.4 million a day to buy Bayraktar drones for the Armed Forces.
A total of UAH 600 million was raised for the purchase of four Bayraktar. Baykar has announced that it will hand over three Bayraktars to the Armed Forces of Ukraine free of charge.
