Russia lost more than 250 thousand soldiers in the war with Ukraine – Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff
On August 6, Russia lost 540 troops, 18 cruise missiles, and 28 drones in Ukraine. 50 combat engagements took place in the frontline

Total enemy combat losses from 02/24/22 to 07/08/23 were approximately as follows:

General Staff report: Two trucks brought bodies of Russians to morgue in occupied Chaplynka from Kherson direction
Yes, the enemy continues to suffer heavy losses, which it tries to conceal by all means. In particular, in the temporarily occupied village of Chaplynka, Kherson region, two trucks with the bodies of Russian army soldiers arrived at the morgue from the Kherson direction. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a morning briefing on August 7.
The bodies were buried in two locations.
Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 2 control points, 2 artillery pieces at firing positions and an occupant’s electronic warfare station
Over the past day, the aviation of the defense forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and 4 strikes on the occupiers’ anti-aircraft missile systems.
The missile and artillery units hit 2 control points, 2 areas of personnel concentration, 2 artillery pieces at firing positions and one Russian electronic warfare station.
Russia carried out 52 air strikes and fired 75 MLRS at Ukraine
On August 6, the enemy launched 30 missile and 52 air strikes, fired 75 multiple rocket launcher systems at Ukrainian troop positions and populated areas. Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries, and have destroyed residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure.
The likelihood of missile and air strikes across Ukraine remains high.
Situation at the frontline: 50 combat engagements took place over the last day
The Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian army clashed 50 times overnight.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged.
In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 35 localities, including Buchky, Hremyach, Vesele in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Sydorivka, Studenok, Basivka, Velyka Pysarivka in Sumy region; and Guryev Kozachok, Strilecha, Hatyshche, Potikhonove, Odradne and Bologivka in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyansk sector, Ukrainian troops are holding steady and successfully repelled enemy attacks in the area east of Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region.
The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Petropavlivka and Podil, Kharkiv region. More than 10 settlements, including Figolivka, Dvorichna, Kindrashivka, Kucherivka, Kupyansk and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region, were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy.
In the Liman sector, the Russian army conducted air strikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region. The settlements of Kuzmine and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, Berestove and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region were subjected to enemy artillery fire.
In the Bakhmut sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back enemy troops in the area northeast of Diliyivka. Over 15 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Bohdanivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka and Pivnichne in Donetsk Oblast.
In the Avdiivka sector, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, Ukrainian defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops near Avdiivka. Avdiivka and Pervomayske in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Maryinka sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnohorivka. The enemy launched an air strike near the latter. Krasnohorivka, Maksymilianivka, Heorhiivka, Pobeda and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Staromayorsk. Vodiane, Vuhledar, Odradne, Blahodatne and Rivne in Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Zaporizhzhya sector, terrorists conducted unsuccessful offensive actions near Robotyne, Zaporizhzhya region.
The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Orikhove. More than 15 settlements came under artillery fire, including Levadne, Chervone, Zaliznychne, Pavlivka, Pyatikhatky and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region, and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovs’k region.
In the Kherson sector, enemy troops conducted an air strike near Olgivka, Kherson region. More than 20 settlements were shelled with artillery, including Mykhailivka, Respublikanets, Lvov, Dniprovske, Veletynske and Novodmytrivka in Kherson region.
It is also worth noting that on Sunday, August 6, 2023, missiles from the Ukrainian Defense Forces damaged the Chongar Bridge and the bridge across the Tonka Strait connecting the city of Henichesk to the Arabat Spit. The Ukrainian Armed Forces officially confirmed the strikes.
