Russian hackers Midnight Blizzard hacked correspondence between Microsoft and Texas government agencies
On June 29, it became known that Russian hackers Midnight Blizzard had hacked into email correspondence between Microsoft Corp. and dozens of Texas government agencies.

The attackers gained access to the mail through a Microsoft hack disclosed in January, during which they stole emails from some of the company’s executives. Microsoft is alerting the Texas Department of Transportation, the Texas Workforce Commission, the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles, the Texas General Land Office, and the Texas Securities Rulemaking Board to the attack.

Midnight Blizzard, according to US and UK authorities, is part of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service. Midnight Blizzard is also known as APT 29 and Cozy Bear.
This is not the first time that Midnight Blizzard has attacked American technology companies. In January 2024, it became known that Russian hackers had attacked Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
