Sneakers that can change their size have been created in Italy (video)

All shoe parts are replaced, disassembled and are subject to one-time use

This development will primarily please teenagers and their parents, who have to constantly buy new shoes because the old ones are too small
The Italian designer has announced the release of unique 4Steps sneakers. They can “grow” with the child’s leg. The man spent 7 years developing the prototype.

Designer Michel Di Carlo presented the concept of 4Steps sneakers, with a special design that allows you to increase the size of the shoe. The sneakers will grow along with the growth of a person’s feet. The idea is intended primarily for teenagers aged 6 to 14. It is at this age that the most active growth of the whole body occurs.

There will be three parts in total: the base, the sole, and the sock shape made of thick fabric. To increase the size, you need to disassemble the sneakers, stretch them along the foot and put the parts back together again and tie all the laces. By the way, it’s the elastic laces that hold the construction together. In the warm season, the open honeycomb structure allows air to pass through the sneaker, and in the cooler months, you may need an extra layer of socks to protect against the cold.

According to Michel, the sneakers can be 3D-printed with flexible and durable FilaFlex plastic, as well as stretchable polyurethane. You can choose the color of each part in a special configurator online or create your own design by uploading it to the 3D printer. And the weight of the adjustable sneakers will be only 123 grams.

The designer shared that his shoes of the future are inexpensive, but Michel did not specify the exact price. Now the designer is working on the quality of the assembly and the product’s subsequent entry into the mass market.
