Star Wars fans will appreciate it: director Jon Favreau has announced a new film, The Mandalorian and the Grog

Star Wars fans received a pleasant surprise from Jon Favreau, director and producer of the popular Mandalorian series on Disney+

This was reported by Variety.

He announced that he is working on a new Star Wars movie, which will be dedicated to the adventures of the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grog, known as Baby Yoda.

Favreau created The Mandalorian in 2019 as the first live-action series from the Star Wars universe. The series tells the story of an unnamed mercenary who belongs to the Mandalorian clan, warriors with a long tradition.

The series became a big hit and received a lot of praise from critics and viewers. The character of Grog became especially popular.

Now Favreau wants to bring this success to the big screen and make a full-length Star Wars movie, which will be called The Mandalorian and Grog. He will direct and produce the film, as well as co-write the script.

He will be assisted in the production by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and the creator of the “Ahsoka” series Dave Filoni.

Kennedy also praised Favreau and Filoni for their contribution to the Star Wars universe and called the new story “perfect for the big screen.”

The Mandalorian and the Grog will be part of Lucasfilm’s new strategy to expand the Star Wars universe not only on television but also in theaters.
