Tesla owners use iPhone 15 Pro as key fobs for their cars

In September, Apple launched official sales of the updated iPhone 15 line, and owners continue to share their impressions of the additional features. For example, drivers of Tesla electric cars have found a new use for the customizable “action button” in their phones, Business Insider reports.

Since Apple’s launch in 2007, all iPhone models have been equipped with a button that can be used to answer a call or turn on silent mode, for example. In the 15th generation devices, it can be programmed to execute more commands of the user’s choice. Many people use this button to turn on a camera or flashlight, open voice messages, etc.

But owners of Tesla electric cars have turned the iPhone 15 Pro into a key fob that controls certain car functions. With one touch, you can unlock them, open the trunk or windows, and turn on the air conditioning. You don’t even need to take your phone out of your pocket and activate the display.

The thing is that Tesla cars don’t have the physical freebies that drivers are used to. They are usually controlled via a mobile application or key cards. By the way, it is known that one of the owners of Tesla implanted such a chip under his skin so that he would not have to look for it all the time.

Users of Apple devices have already had the experience of creating special shortcuts to control cars right from their iPhones. Previously, these were mostly icons or widgets on the main screen of the device. Now, the new “action button” will allow them to launch certain programs much more conveniently, according to the developers.

Some people were so amused by this opportunity that they started sharing videos on social media showing different keyboard shortcuts to control the Tesla.

As a reminder, a few days after the launch of iPhone 15 sales, users reported some imperfections in the devices. It was about their bezels changing color, new devices arriving with scratches, freezing while transferring files, and their speakers making noise.
