The Armed Forces of Ukraine showed the M270 MLRS reactive systems in operation for the first time (video)
Almost two weeks have passed since the official announcement of the arrival of the American M270 MLRS rocket launchers in Ukraine. And so, the Armed Forces showed them in action for the first time.
What is known
Of course, the place of application of the M270 MLRS has not yet been opened. In total, Ukraine received three jet systems, but soon their number will be tripled. We also do not forget about the three MARS II handed over by Germany.
M270 MLRS is an American missile system designed to destroy enemy targets at a distance of 2 to 300 km, depending on the projectile. Ukraine has not yet received missiles with a launch range of 300 km.
The jet system is mounted on the chassis of the Bradley tracked combat vehicle. One M270 MLRS mount carries 12 guided missiles. The crew consists of three people.
In fact, this machine is a tracked version of the American HIMARS and carries not one launcher, but two (6 missiles each). The projectiles themselves are the same as HIMARS.
