The Armed Forces showed the deployment of the MARS II complex on the battlefield

To resist Russian aggression, the Ukrainian army uses various types of weapons. They are supplied to the country by allies. The anti-Putin coalition includes more than 50 countries. For example, the Ukrainian army received M270 and HIMARS complexes from the USA. For its part, Germany transferred the MARS II, which are an upgraded version of the M270.

Last weekend, the Joint Forces Group released photos showing the deployment of MARS II missile systems on the battlefield.

MARS IIMARS II has been in service with the Bundeswehr since the early 90s. The launcher is mounted on an American-made M2 Bradley chassis.

Germany produces MARS II under license. Missile systems were adapted for the needs of the German army.

The mass of MARS II is about 26 tons. The complex moves along roads at a speed of 64 km/h. When driving over rough terrain, its speed is reduced to 48 km/h. The declared range is 480 km.

MARS II requires three crew members to operate. The launcher contains two blocks of guides. It is capable of simultaneously launching up to 12 GMLRS rockets.

The range of hitting targets depends on the type of ammunition used. It varies between 45-70 km.
