The Chinese are testing a drone capable of hiding from air defenses underwater

Specialists of the Nanjing University of Aeronautics have developed a prototype UAV that can move both in the air and under water. The results of the tests of the unusual drone were published by the journalists of Unmanned Systems Technology.

The wingspan of the hybrid drone prototype is two meters. The original UAV will have large dimensions. The drone is capable of operating in underwater, surface and air modes. According to the developers, the most difficult task they had to solve during the development of the drone was to ensure the transition from one mode to another. They made the wings of the hybrid BLPA fine. They are folded up before watering.

Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics The drone is driven by four propellers, like regular quadcopters. The front two fans can change the angle of inclination. The maximum speed of the prototype is 120 km/h. According to experts, this is not enough. To avoid air defense systems installed on aircraft carriers, the drone must develop a speed of at least 150 km/h. Most likely, this will be the case with the original drone. The UAV goes underwater precisely to protect against air defense systems.

The appearance and technical characteristics are not given by the journalists of Unmanned Systems Technology because Chinese scientists have decided not to reveal them yet. They only provided one blurry photo that makes it difficult to see the details.
