“The Crown will return to the air on November 16 – Netflix has published a short teaser trailer with the announcement date of Peter Morgan’s popular big-budget show about the British royal family, as well as several posters.
The sixth season, which will be the last one (the show lasted for seven years and changed its main cast three times), will unfold immediately after the events of the fifth season, which was released a year ago. The final part of the series will cover the period between 1997 and 2005 and will tell the story of Tony Blair’s premiership, the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales, in a car accident in Paris, the early relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton, and the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. They began filming in August 2022 and paused in September after Elizabeth II’s death to pay tribute to Her Majesty.
Imelda Staunton, Olivia Colman, Jonathan Pryce, Elizabeth Debicki, Dominic West and Lesley Manville will reprise their roles. And the new actors who joined the cast include Meg Bellamy and Ed McVeigh, who played Kate Middleton and Prince William.
The sixth season of The Crown will be released in two parts: the first four episodes will be available on Netflix on November 16, and the remaining six will be released almost a month later on December 14.
