Two B-1B Lancers will take part in Air Defender 2023. For this purpose, the US Air Force deployed them at the Mihail Kogălniceanu air base in Romania. This was reported by the NATO Air Command.
The B-1B Lancer is a strategic bomber that ceased to be a nuclear weapons carrier several years ago. After crossing the Atlantic, the planes are actively involved in various events.
At the end of May, they managed to drop several bombs in Latvia, then flew over Bosnia and Herzegovina, and recently the US Air Force published a rare video of the launch of an AGM-158 JASSM missile. In addition, in early June, B-1B Lancers took part in the Arctic Challenge 2023 exercise, flying over the world’s largest aircraft carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford. Ford along with F-35 fighters.
