They are waiting to see how it will prove itself in Israel: The United States is ready to invest 1.2 billion dollars in the development of Iron Beam laser weapons

The United States is monitoring Israel’s Iron Beam system. The Ministry of Defense is ready to invest in laser weapons if they prove to be effective.

After the Hamas attack, information emerged about Israel’s readiness to deploy the Iron Beam laser system. Later, a video of the alleged first combat use was published. The video actually turned out to be footage from a video game.

However, the United States is waiting for Israel to use Iron Beam. If used effectively, they are ready for investment. This was stated by Doug Bush, Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Army for Acquisition.

House Republicans insist on allocating $14 billion in aid to Israel. The administration of U.S. President Joe Biden wants to request $1.2 billion from Congress to develop the Iron Beam system.

The United States itself has several projects to create laser weapons. The U.S. Army cooperates with Dynetics and Lockheed Martin. They want to create a directed energy system that will provide protection against cruise missiles, artillery shells, mortar attacks, and unmanned aerial vehicles. Last month, two 300 kW units were ordered with an option to order the same amount.
