TikTok deletes songs of some Ukrainian Eurovision participants

Songs from artists representing the Ukrainian label ENKO were removed from TikTok, as this label is a partner of Universal Music Group (UMG). At midnight on January 31, UMG decided to remove its music from TikTok, as the contract had expired and negotiations on its extension failed to reach an agreement on compensation for the artists.

According to the company, TikTok pays small rewards to artists and songwriters. At the same time, TikTok representatives noted that Universal Music Group “puts its greed above the interests of its artists and songwriters”.

ENKO is a partner of the label, so songs by their artists were also removed. These include tracks by the participants of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, such as Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil, YAKTAK, NAHABA, and ANKA.

TikTok’s library, which lost songs by Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Ariana Grande, Harry Styles, The Weeknd, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and others, was also collected.

It’s important to note that unofficial recordings or live performances allow you to save such audio tracks to the video.
