Ukrainian Armed Forces demonstrate Bofors anti-aircraft gun in action (video)

Lithuania handed over 36 units of Bofors anti-aircraft guns to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Last weekend, X posted a video showing the weapon in action. It was published by a user with the nickname AlexRaptor.

The video shows a Bofors L70 gun. The transfer of such weapons to the Armed Forces was announced on January 11. The Lithuanian authorities have allocated EUR 40 million for this purpose.

The Ukrainian army uses Bofors L70 to protect critical infrastructure. The developer of the anti-aircraft gun is AB Bofors. It was in service with six NATO countries.

The 40 mm cannon is mounted in a Bofors L70 at a centralized radar post. It is automatically aimed at the target. The operator is only required to load ammunition. The presence of an optical sighting station and a thermal imager makes it possible to use the anti-aircraft gun at night.
