Ukrainian engineers have developed an innovative robotic platform that can use ground penetrating radar to clear mines. Ground Penetrating Radar is an indispensable tool for demining, as it can scan the ground and detect invisible objects, including explosive devices and minefields.
In order to ensure effective and safe demining, the engineers connected the GPR to a robotic platform on wheels. This allows you to move around the territory while the GPR scans the ground and transmits information about the found objects to a remote monitor. The robotic platform is controlled remotely by the operator, ensuring safety.
The advantage of the new platform is the ability to determine whether the detected object is really dangerous. Thanks to the use of advanced technologies and algorithms, the robot is able to analyze data received from GPR and assess the potential threat associated with each object found.
The robot transmits detailed images of objects found underground, which allows for a better understanding of the type and location of detected explosive objects. With accurate data on the location and characteristics of these objects, bomb squads can decide on the methods and sequence of their neutralization.
The robotic platform has increased cross-country ability and stability, which allows it to successfully navigate different types of soil and overcome obstacles. The platform is designed to take into account hard-to-reach areas and potential obstacles, ensuring reliability and efficiency in demining conditions.
