Ukrainian Starlink wins a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s SpaceX
Ukrainian Starlink LLC has won a lawsuit against Elon Musk’s SpaceX company.
This is evidenced by a decision in the court register, Hromadske TV reports.
In October, SpaceX filed a lawsuit against Starlink LLC and Ukrpatent. They demanded early termination of the Ukrainian Starlink trademark.
On March 2, the Kyiv Commercial Court dismissed SpaceX’s claim.
Ukrainian Starlink LLC, which provides IT services, has been operating for over 12 years. The application for registration was filed in March 2010, and the trademark was registered in February 2011.
The American Starlink was launched in 2015. SpaceX applied for registration of the Starlink brand in Ukraine in 2020 and received the rights to it in August 2022. Musk’s Starlink subsidiary in Ukraine is called Starlink Ukraine LLC.
